we’re idolaters, liars, thieves, murders, and adulterers. we deserve death; to be eternally separated from our Creator, King, and Greatest Good. no matter how good we are, how hard we try, or what we can attain or accomplish, we will never bridge the gap. (rom 3:23, rom 5:12, james 1:17)
but…
God sent His son. born to a virgin (not born into the sin of man), who humbled Himself to become a man. this God-Man lived a perfect life, and died on a cross. an innocent slain for the guilty, righteous for the unrighteous, spotless for the soiled. He bore the guilt and wrath that we deserved. He ransomed us. then He rose to life, and conquered death. He offers a life that is truly life. (matthew 1:18, phil 2:5-8, romans 5:17, 1 peter 3:18, 1 tim 2:5-6, 2 cor 5:17, 1 tim 6:19)
so we’re no longer our own; purchased at a price, and ransomed by our God and King. (eph 2:8, 1 cor 16:20)
but we’re still broken, we’re still imperfect, and we’re still not home. (rom 7:21, phil 3:12, romans 8:23)
broken, battered, and chipped clay vessels, (2 cor 4:7)
who are dying to live.(matt 10:39)
though we will disappoint you, and hurt you… we’re learning to love. will you join us for the walk? (2 cor 3:18)
